Our Houston client is seeking a Contract Benefits Administrator to perform functions associated with their employee benefits program.
Verifies insurance coverage for various health service agencies and benefit certification programs.
Administers various employee benefits programs, including medical, dental, vision, accident and disability and life, as well as health savings and flexible spending account programs; participates in the implementation of new or revised benefits programs.
Administers the leave of absence process.
Prepares documentation needed to enroll, change status, and terminate employee benefit plan participation.
Inputs benefits data into HRIS and related software applications.
Assists employees in the completion of enrollment applications and other employee benefits materials.
Reviews enrollment forms and other benefit documents for accuracy; forwards material to appropriate carriers as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Education, training, experience:
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related discipline.
3+ years benefits administration experience within a corporate HR/Benefits environment.
Knowledge of all federal and state regulations pertaining to employee benefits compliance, including ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA, and Worker’s Compensation, and other applicable regulations.
Proficiency in MS Office Suites, internet, web-based and related job-specific software applications.
Working knowledge of HRIS systems.
Ability to prioritize and multi-task; strong analysis skills.
PHR/SPHR Certification preferred.
