About the role:
The Total Rewards and HRIS Director will drive all compensation and benefits activities for the organization collaborating with senior management to develop and implement an enterprise-wide comprehensive compensation, benefits and rewards strategy and corresponding programs to enable the organization to achieve its business objectives. There are several key deliverables for this role in the first 9 months, which include:
• Upgrade of the company’s HRIS system
• Further design and modification of incentive programs
• Design and definition of compensation structures in various parts of the organization that will support the organization’s philosophies and growth objectives
• Development of benefits strategy and programs
• Review and manage the company’s 401k program including 3rd party administration
• Consolidation / Rationalization of Company Recognition Programs
• Develop and Implement a compensation review process: external market validation and internal equity analyses to drive an effective salary structure
Responsibilities/Functions:
Leadership
• Lead the refinement of a company-wide compensation and rewards strategy that supports the organization’s philosophies and objectives
• Provide direction and consultation to the senior management on compensation and rewards issues
• Develop appropriate metrics and tracking mechanisms to measure results, impact and cost-effectiveness of all spends
• Partner with specific members of executive management to develop incentive programs
• Partner with external vendors and brokers and internal members of management to develop and execute benefits programs and strategies
• Lead HR portion of HRIS upgrade initiative; take leadership role on HR automation projects
• Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of line management
• Demonstrate Domain Expertise
Build Process
• Maintain integrity of Human Resources information systems and other information processes; lead the development and/or modification of automated systems as necessary
• Upgrade and manage vendor interface and payment processes
• Manage company’s risk and exposure on FLSA issues; provide organizational design support to members of management on position descriptions, titles, salaries, etc.
• Manage benefits information flow and open enrollment processes
• Create process for transitioning LOA administration to 3rd party and managing it going forward
• Develop the Compensation portion of a true pay-for-performance process
• Develop a full companywide salary structure
Develop Programs
• Develop and manage incentive programs for various segments of employee population
• Manage performance review and merit programs across the company
• Manage service awards program and develop spot awards programs
• Create wellness programs to mitigate longer-term cost impacts of benefits programs
Execute on Compensation / Benefits Needs
• Work with managers on specific job evaluation, title, grade and rate issues
• Provide market information on positions for re-evaluation or new positions
• Assist managers on compensation levels for promotions
• Participate in other human resources projects as needed
Job Requirements
Education, training, experience:
Requirements:
• Relevant Bachelors’ Degree, Master’s preferred
• 10+ years of related experience in compensation, benefits and HRIS
• Must be familiar with and experienced with non-exempt, exempt and executive programs
• Experience negotiating with vendors, and creating, implementing and managing benefits programs
• Experience upgrading or implementing HRIS solutions preferable
• Experience with ADP HRIS preferable
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Willing and able to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, and demonstrate flexibility
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Demonstrated leadership and managerial skills
• Sound business ethics that show consistency between principles, values, and behaviors
• Proven track record in developing collaborative partnerships with HR functions, management, and outside vendors that drive results
• Proven experience managing external vendors for systems, products and services
• Strong negotiating skills
• Strong presentation skills are required
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills to effectively represent the company and interact with inside and outside customers
• A strong sense of urgency, a high degree of initiative, and the ability to lead and/or participate in cross-functional teams
